Analyst firm Gartner has recognized Zoom in its 2016 Critical Capabilities for Web Conferencing report.

Overall, Zoom leads the pack, scoring:

  • 4.5 / 5 in Webinars (top 3 of 15 services evaluated)
  • 4.45 / 5 in External Presentation (top 3)
  • 4.30 / 5 in Internal Collaboration (top 2)
  • 4.30 / 5 in Learning and Training (top 2)

For the critical capabilities within these use cases, Gartner has given Zoom 5/5 scores in: Cloud/SaaS Delivery Model, Hybrid Delivery Model, Internal Delivery Model, Host Controls, Client Experience, APIs, and Scalability. We also scored 4+/5 in Enterprise Integration.

All together, this gives Zoom the highest unweighted average score among web conferencing companies evaluated, as well as the highest cumulative score.

What’s behind these stellar scores? The report focused on our diverse client support and flexible freemium offering: “Zoom is one of two new entrants in this research based on growth, the platform’s technical capabilities, and a broad base of features to serve important enterprise use cases. In a relatively short time since its founding in 2011, Zoom has developed easy-to-use and diverse client support across Windows, Mac, and Linux, Web browsers, and feature parity with iOS, BlackBerry, and Android for online meeting hosts and participants on the go. Its freemium model (which offers the same features as a premium purchase, and allows meetings of up to 50 participants for 40 minutes) makes it simple to experiment for enterprise and line of business use.”

The report notes Zoom’s ability to integrate with existing video conference room systems or deploy new Zoom Rooms via commodity hardware as useful for mixed environments. It also discusses the value of Zoom’s Skype for Business, Ring Central, and Redbooth integrations.Live Demo

“We are proud that Gartner recognizes Zoom’s achievements in creating a world-class enterprise video and web conferencing platform,” said Eric S. Yuan, our Founder and CEO. “At the end of the day, we have worked hard to build the easiest, most frictionless, and most interoperable platform because we know that is what our customers want, but it is always rewarding to receive the recognition of experienced industry analysts. We hope more companies will see that they don’t need to put up with difficult, inflexible, expensive legacy systems. To get the best user experience, they just need to get Zoom.”
